From aspiring kindergarten teacher to event sales powerhouse, Anna Zuniga’s journey is a testament to finding purpose in unexpected places. Step into Her Heels as we get to know this accomplished Catering Sales Consultant and learn how she turned an internship into a thriving career.

How did you enter into your industry?

My friend at the time raved about how fun the event industry was and how I should consider it! So I interned at Galleria Marchetti right out of college. I absolutely loved it and I knew I wanted to continue in the industry.

Did you always know you wanted to have this career?

No! I wanted to be a kindergarten teacher and then switched my major to Communications. I planned to get into PR or Marketing. It truly was tough getting a job after gradating college!

If you could tell yourself one thing when you first started your career, what would it be?

It is okay when things don't go as planned and it is okay to change your mind at any point.

How do you manage imposter syndrome?

I am very hard on myself and I do feel like I could do better or that I am not good enough. I feel like having a supportive team at work and home has helped me navigate this!

If you could go back and tell your teenage self advice what would it be?

I would tell my teenage self to learn to speak up for myself because that will help so much in life.

Where are we likely to find you on the weekends or when you aren't working?

At home with my husband, one year old son, and dog!

Name 3 things you cannot live without.

Coffee, my phone, and a lip oil.

What are you currently listening to? Podcast? Favorite song that motivates you?

I LOVE podcasts! I listen/watch to Fool Coverage weekly. They are YouTube makeup influencers that I have been watching for years. They talk about trends, drama on social media, and their lives. I also listen to Call Her Daddy and The Squeeze.

How do you get yourself out of a funk when you are having an off day?

I like to go on a walk and get coffee :)

What would surprise us about yourself?

I love to sing! Also, I love to watch vlogs on YouTube. Give me all the long content of your daily life!

What is the best advice you have received?

This is hard because I feel like I am constantly being given great advice. I can tell you the worst advice I ever received, "Sleep with the baby sleeps." Who came up with this?!

What are some career highlights and biggest career accomplishments?

My best year being in sales, I have sold over 1.3 million in events as a Catering Sales Consultant. That was my biggest accomplishment and I am striving for more.

What is something you are excited to be working on?

I am not working on anything new or exciting, but I would love to be! Always down to being busy.
