In her Heels With Dulce intud
“You are stronger than you think”
Join us for a Feature Friday where we go “In Her Heels” with our President of the Chicago Chapter for Heels & Handshakes.
How did you enter into your industry?
Instagram believe it or not.
Did you always know you wanted to have this career?
Yes, I knew early on this was my calling.
If you could tell yourself one thing when you first started your career, what would it be?
You’ll get the through this! You’re strong!
How do you manage imposter syndrome?
Honestly, imposter syndrome is something I’ve definitely dealt with, and still do from time to time. When it shows up, I try to remind myself that it’s normal and that feeling uncertain doesn’t mean I’m not capable. I take a step back and look at what I’ve already accomplished, and remind myself that I’ve earned my place—even if it doesn’t always feel that way.
If you could go back and tell your teenage self advice what would it be?
The trials you’ll face will help you get to where you once dreamed. Even the moments that feel heavy or unfair are shaping you into someone stronger, wiser, and more grounded. Don’t rush the process—everything you’re going through has purpose, even if you don’t see it yet. Trust your journey, stay close to your values, and don’t be afraid to take up space.
Where are we likely to find you on the weekends or when you aren't working?
Photoshoots, soccer games, shopping, or traveling.
Name 3 things you cannot live without.
Starbucks, phone, and my family.
What are you currently listening to? Podcast? Favorite song that motivates you?
Morgan wallen!
How do you get yourself out of a funk when you are having an off day?
Starbucks!!
What would surprise us about yourself?
What might surprise you about me is that even though I come off as confident and put-together, I’ve battled a lot of self-doubt behind the scenes. I’ve learned how to push through it, lead with heart, and show up fully—even when I don’t have it all figured out. I think people are often surprised by how much strength can live quietly inside someone who’s still growing.
What is the best advice you have received?
Don’t ever settle for less.
What are some career highlights and biggest career accomplishments?
One of my biggest career accomplishments is earning my master’s degree in social work. It was a long, challenging journey—especially balancing school, family, and running a business—but I stayed committed because I knew it aligned with my purpose. Graduating and officially becoming a licensed social worker was a proud moment that reminded me of my resilience and dedication.
This accomplishment means more than a degree—it represents growth, sacrifice, and a deep passion for helping others, especially within my community. It’s something I carry with pride every day.
What is something you are excited to be working on?
Right now, I’m really excited to be working on myself. After pouring so much into school, work, and family, I’m finally giving myself space to slow down and grow in new ways—mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I’m learning to set better boundaries, be more present, and embrace who I am becoming without rushing the process.
It’s not always easy, but it feels good to invest in my healing, confidence, and joy. It’s a different kind of work, but one that’s just as important.
