How did you enter into your industry?

I found fulfillment in helping people with the financial stresses of life. At first, I began helping people manage and grow their money. As I progressed and grew myself, I updated my skill set to help those with aspirations to purchase their forever home.

Did you always know you wanted to have this career?

I knew I wanted to be a resource and help those who need guidance. I honestly didn’t know in what form it would manifest but 20 years later I think I chose the right path for me.

If you could tell yourself one thing when you first started your career, what would it be?

Listen to those who have already walked in this path. You would be a fool to ignore their words as they have already experienced the highs and lows, and have the life experience that justifies their credibility to be a resource for you to learn from. A fool would think they already know everything before experiencing it themselves.

How do you manage imposter syndrome?

“Manage” is a great way to describe it. When I’m doubting myself, I remind myself I’ve been doing the same thing consistently for the last 20 years and not only do I still enjoy what I do, but I have people who keep coming back and asking for my guidance. Those actions and questions from friends and clients affirm I’m in the right place and people really do listen to what I have to say.

If you could go back and tell your teenage self advice what would it be?

Girl. …. Girl. Stand up straight and realize everybody is unique and has their own flaws. The haters are most likely outwardly projecting their hate to mask their own insecurities.

Don’t let somebody who doesn’t know you determine your next steps. Stand confidently. You know who you are and how to carry yourself.
Don’t change to what other people want you to be.

Don’t determine your value based on their thoughts. You can’t please everyone. You’ll drive yourself crazy trying to do so.

Where are we likely to find you on the weekends or when you aren't working?

Self-care has become a big part of my life as I hit my 40th birthday this year. Whether that’s being intentional about my physical health and hitting the gym at Burn Boot Camp of Hendersonville, or out on the water fishing with my boys or cruising the lake with my family.

My mental health has also become a focus as breathing exercises and intentional step backs have become second nature to decompress when I am overwhelmed.

Name 3 things you cannot live withoutWhat are you currently listening to?

Obviously, my family, but after that, Burn Boot Camp, comfortable pair of running shoes and self tanner.

Podcast? Favorite song that motivates you?

My playlists are as scattered as the thoughts in my head. If I need to get hyped for a workout, it’s usually Eminem. If I’m trying to decompress and chill in the hot tub, then it’s some laid-back country music.

Podcasts: Grant Cardone and Joe Rogan

How do you get yourself out of a funk when you are having an off day?

Some sort of physical activity. I have found that the mental funk is usually kicked out with a physical activity like a good sweat. Either I will go for a run or go to a physical activity outside. When my body can decompress my mental funk seems to chill out as well.

What would surprise us about yourself?

I body painted myself and my husband as White Walkers for a Game of Thrones fan convention when it came to Nashville.

What is the best advice you have received?

“You’re only as good as those in which you surround yourself”.

If you’re with a negative person or a detrimental personality, then you are choosing to surround yourself with those traits and may soon absorb them.

Conversely, if you’re around positive personalities that elevate and highlight your best characteristics, you are more likely to emulate those outward as well being a light to others.

What are some career highlights and biggest career accomplishments?

My biggest career accomplishment to date was celebrating being a top performer for the Tennessee mortgage bankers Association at the end of 2024. A very tough year paid off as I rounded out a year with top producers.

It may sound corny, but I truly love the “highlights” of helping first time homeowners purchased their home. While I help secondary homebuyers and investors, there’s still some thing about the bright eyes and smile of a first time homeowner.

What is something you are excited to be working on?

I’m excited to partner with a nonprofit that benefits special-needs children, and their families, the Center for Courageous Kids.

As CCK helps children with life threatening and life altering disabilities and their families experience a true “summer camp“ at a state-of-the-art medically inclusive camp.

I am on the advocacy committee as CCK helps families from right here in middle Tennessee. Their smiles keep me coming back and helping them grow and receive support here in Nashville.
